I know all about magic baby, you see I taught myself...

I felt a bit guilty only posting once this month after so much happened so I've stolen Col's idea of lyrics for post titles and started to write.

I've been really busy recently, it's the end of the first term of my last year at Uni so I've got coursework to complete and songs to practice. It seems like quite a lot of work at first glance but it's easily tackled.

So, onto what interesting things I've been up to. It was Rachel's birthday this month, as well as Mike's so they decided on a joint outing in Reading, that was a mental night full of jolliness, drinks and Scott getting in trouble with a bouncer. Bit of a power hungry bouncer to be fair, too aggressive with little aggravation. We started in the Oakford, a good meeting place if not a tad expensive on the drinks, a lot of people turned up which surprised Rach who was adamant that no one would show up. From there we moved on to the Purple Turtle, where we forced some shots down the birthday pair and where Scott got a wrist slap. We also lost Dan here, I'm not sure what happened but apparently he wanted to pay to get in but the bouncers wouldn't let him, I would have taken the money! We ended up in After Dark, an alternative club that was playing 80s tunes all night, it was quite popular with the people who stayed the whole night, especially when Journey started playing; Just a small town girl.....
Me and Rach stayed at Jof's while they stayed in the Hurst after a party for their mates, which we were very grateful for, it was so much easier to just stay in Reading rather than travelling all the way home, which we found out the next day was also quite a dangerous journey; Mike ended up with a bruised ear and sore knuckles after some confrontation with a group of dicks.

Rachel also had a meal with her work friends at Que Pasa in Camberley. She booked the table for 8.30 but when we got there we were told the chef buggered off at 9 so we had to get our orders in, idiots, did it not occur to them that we may want food? Did they not think of informing us of the Chef's stupid working hours?! It was a great night none the less.

We took a trip into London on the day of Rachel's birth with her Mum and Auntie. We visited Madame Tussauds, stopped for lunch at the Hard Rock cafe and then explored the London Dungeons, what a day! Really enjoyable, although I did unwittingly get strapped into an indoor ride a bit like Detonator, I had my face screwed up for the duration, my fear was captured for eternity by the ride's camera for all to mirth at. Expect that picture to be on Facebook soon I imagine.
Pictures of the nights out can be found on my Facebook page too, enjoy!

In other news, I've stared a Beatles cover band with my brother and a couple of mates from other Reading bands, we've already got a good number of tunes in our set list and more and more are added at each rehearsal each week, we'll be gigging and getting paid in no time! ...We hope. Looking forward to it though, it's great fun!
The Cheap Day Returns are coming to the end of a month long break this week as we meet up for a practice before our next gig, the 15th December at the Cellar Bar in Bracknell, which is a few days before a bigger gig at the Purple Turtle in Reading. I'm really looking forward to that one, should be massive! We've got a number of new songs lined up that Jof has shown me, they sound ace and should be a welcome addition to our set, although I'll miss some of the oldies! I hope they're as popular as our current set. I'm sure they will be.

I'm still thinking about doing an audio podcast, might do my first one just before Christmas when I have no coursework to tie me down!

I feel as though this post has been a bit dull, I'll try to fill the next one with things that annoy me and why to liven things up a bit, rather than just a diary of my month! Expect another post next weekend if I remember, I'll let you know how my exam went!

If I'd written as much as I have here on my coursework I'd be a lot further along! Oops, ah well, back to work!

Cheers for reading whoever you are!
